DESCRIPTION:
French, brass cased time, strike and repeat carriage clock, in an attractive case with candy twist columns and handle, and with a lovely floral mask surrounding the porcelain dial, c.1900
CONDITION:
this clock has had the luxury of a Rolls Royce servicing by Ray Bates {the British Clockmaker in VT}, at a cost of $1636, receipt is at the small parts desk. A friend of mine serviced a tall clock recently for $500, and 3 days after he delivered the clock, he was phoned and asked for his references. When he challenged the inquiry, they said, it could not have been a good repair job, since he didn't charge enough. I am confident that Mr. Bates is never asked for additional references. Enough story. This is a pleasant clock. Original platform intact. Ht 8.25"
